MVRCFL in the news

8/9/10— FORMER TEACHER SENTENCED FOR DISTRIBUTING CHILD PORNOGRAPHY – The Miami Valley (MVRCFL) assisted the FBI Columbus Cybercrimes Task Force in the investigation of Michael Highman, 43, a former teacher and coach who received an 11-year jail sentence for using an Internet site to share more than 200,000 images and movies of prepubescent teenage boys engaged in sexual acts — learn more.

Welcome to the Miami Valley Regional Computer Forensics Laboratory (MVRCFL) Web page. Our mission is to provide the highest quality digital forensics services and assistance to any law enforcement agency with jurisdiction in the southern half of Ohio.

We invite both the general public and our colleagues in law enforcement to visit this Web site often to learn more about the science of digital forensics, and to take full advantage of the many services, training, and valuable expertise that the MVRCFL provides.

The MVRCFL is still seeking participating agencies from the local law enforcement community to join us in this important effort. Click here to read about the benefits of participation in the program, or contact the Laboratory Director, Dave Barnes on (937) 291-5363 or via e-mail, barnesd@mvrcfl.org.
